Imagi-Nations that are used in wargames are fictional countries that have been created to provide a setting for battles, campaigns, and wars.

The Imagi-Nations that will be featured in this blog all ‘exist’ during the latter part of the nineteenth and early part of the twentieth centuries, the period usually referred to a ‘La Belle Époque’.

This was a period characterised by general economic prosperity, colonial expansion, and technological and scientific innovation. Amongst the latter two were the development of the motor vehicle, the telephone, early aircraft, and medical advances in the fields of germ theory of disease, bacteriology, and X-ray photography.

Schwarzenberg is my fictional equivalent of Germany. Its troops wear dark blue jackets, grey trousers, and either a black pickelhaube (regular infantry, artillery, engineers, and train),  dark blue peak-less field cap with a red band (reserve infantry and train), or a busby (cavalry)

Khakistan is my fictional equivalent of the Ottoman Turkish Empire. Their troops wear uniforms that are in various shades of khaki and either a khaki cloth helmet (all regular and some reserve units) or a khaki fez (reserve infantry).

Emirate of Khyberistan

Khyberistan is my fictional equivalent of Afghanistan. Its troops wear off-white uniforms and turbans in tribal colours.

Principality of Hyderapore

Hyderapore is my fictional equivalent of one of the Indian princely states. Its troops wear white uniforms with a mid-blue turban.

Sultanate of Sahel

Sahel is my fictional equivalent of the Sudan. Its troops wear white 'uniforms' that mainly comprise a length of cloth wound around the lower body in the manner of a kilt.
